One of the things that seems to get little attention (except at Bill McBride’s Calculated Risk)when it comes to existing home sales, is how the decline in Foreclosure & Short Sales is affecting the headline number. I haven’t seen the February data, but through January the distressed sales were down sharply while conventional sales continued to show growth. I believe this shows strength, not weakness, in the market.
